In Iowa, County Supervisors oversee the management and operation of the county, its budgets, and its offices.
The County Treasurer acts as the county’s banker, tax collector, and motor vehicle registrar, responsible for receiving, investing, and dispersing county funds. The Treasurer’s key duties include collecting property and mobile home taxes, conducting annual tax sales for delinquent taxes, issuing vehicle titles/registrations, and providing driver’s license services
A County Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer and legal advisor for the county, prosecuting state criminal law violations and county ordinance violations, handling juvenile delinquency and child in need of assistance cases, and providing legal counsel to the Board of Supervisors.
The County Attorney must be an attorney admitted to the Iowa Bar to practice in Iowa.
Right now, all these offices are held by Republicans.
This could be the year that Democrats win these seats!
